Are you one of the 300?

Are you one of the 300?

So the three hundred men took people’s provisions for the journey and their trumpets made of rams horns in their hands. And Gideon sent away all the other men of Israel, each to his tent, but kept the three hundred men. And the camp of Midian was below him in the valley... So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, when the guards had just been changed, and they blew the trumpets and smashed the pitchers that were in their hands. When three groups blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers, they held the torches in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow, and they shouted: A sword for the LORD and for Gideon! Then each stood in his place around the camp; and the entire Midianite army ran, crying out as they fled. When Gideon’s men blew the three hundred trumpets, the LORD set the sword of one Midianite against another even throughout the whole army; and the army fled as far as they could Judg 7:8 - 22

There are times that God wants to take a smaller, but very committed group, and do something extraordinary with them. He wants to show Himself strong, and is well able to do exceeding abundantly - above all.

Courage looks fear in the eye and refuses to obey its demands. Courage tells the fear to be silent and instead rises up to do what is required, no matter how scary it may be.

To be full of courage, we need to be fully committed to His cause. Dedicated and wholehearted. We may need training and preparation, to be equipped and ready, but the battle belongs to the Lord. He is the one who comes up with the ingenious strategy, and he is the One who gets the victory. All the 300 men had to do was to show up, brave and wholehearted, and follow God’s lead.

We do not need to have the power to conquer, nor even the strategy! All we have to do is to come to God in our weakness, as Gideon did, willing to stare down our own fear and dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to God’s leadership. He is looking for people of courage and faith, people who are wholeheartedly devoted to Him. We will be amazed what God can do with a small band of obedient fearless warriors! Are you one of them?

In that specific time God send in a prophet. He singles out a man named Gideon (one that the people will not choose) - He then calls him a mighty warrior, and assures him that He the Lord is with him and they we will take down these Midianites together.

YOU GOT TO GET THE SOUND RIGHT! It was an act of obedience and a prophetic act that woke up the enemy, sent confusion into the camp, and had them start killing each other with the sword before they started running in defeat. A Gideon's 300 can make a tremendous impact. There are times that God delights to prove Himself strong to a smaller committed group with great leadership through whom He can do great things.

Is there a Gideon's 300 in the group you lead, just waiting to be unleashed? Is there a Gideon - a mighty warrior inside of you ready to be unleashed? You may feel like the least of the least like Gideon - but you're connected to the Greatest of the Great.

Judges 6:4 The Lord said to Gideon - Go in the strength you have now - do not wait. He said: I will be with you, you're not alone WE doing this together.

God can do a lot with a smaller Holy Spirit commissioned and energized warriors on mission for the King and His Kingdom! God called the most unlikely man to lead a spiritual revival that began with the destruction of idols.

Will you (in spite of) lead or be part of such an extraordinary army in this very peril times? “Give me ten men who fear nothing but sin and love nothing but God, and I shall change the world." DL Moodly
